Paying your membership fee

The annual membership fee is £12.00.

When you join the Society, the subscription for the first year is the amount needed to take you to the end of that year, so if you join in January the fee is £12, February £11, and so on.

You can renew your membership at the AGM in November, or you can send a cheque made out to WGAS to our Treasurer:

or email [email protected] to confirm your renewal and make a bank transfer to sort code 30 95 29, account number 02969887 with your surname as the reference.

Preparing for an exhibition 


Entering for the 2019 Shire Hall, Monmouth exhibition

You may enter up to 3 artworks. You can also bring browsers and cards for sale.

The entry fees are £3.00 per artwork and 50p per browser.

A commission of 15% will be taken on all sales.

To enter, please send an email to Krysia Kolodziejek ([email protected]) giving the following information:

  • your name and phone number
  • the title, medium and selling price of each artwork you wish to enter
  • the number of browsers you wish to enter
  • when you will be available to steward (the exhibition will be open on the afternoon of Wednesday 31st July, then morning and afternoon on Thursday 1st August, Friday 2nd August and Saturday 3rd August.)


Then pay your entry fees in one of these ways:

  • make a bank transfer to sort code 30 95 29, account number 02969887 with your surname as the reference
  • send a cheque made out to WGAS to: Audrey Mackie, 16 Beech Way, Littledean, GL14 3PD

Your email and payment must both be received by Friday 26th July. We will confirm receipt of your entries.

Members will be informed in advance by email of the setup and take-down times for the exhibition.


Miners Country Inn Exhibitions continue on an 11 week cycle.

The changeover dates and people in charge of hanging for 2019 are:

Feb 12th    Ailsa Saunders
April 23rd   Viki Tyrrell
July 2nd    Jane Lorimer
Sept 10th    Eve Campbell
Nov 19th     Pat Miller

Members will be advised of any changes.

Please send details of your entries by email to Audrey Mackie ([email protected]) 10 days before the changeover.

Give the title, medium and selling price of each artwork.

You can enter up to three artworks plus one reserve.

There is no entry fee. 10% commission will be taken by the Miners Country Inn.

Remember to put the artwork title and artist’s name clearly on the back of each artwork, and bring all your entries between 9 and 9.15 am on changeover day – if there is sufficient space the fourth may be hung.

Events in 2019

Exhibition/sale of work at Lydney
One of our Members, Tony Norris, has kindly arranged for us to have a stand at ‘Party in the Park’ in Bathurst Park, Lydney on Saturday 6th July. This is part of the annual Lydney Festival and was a very popular event last year with thousands of visitors. It will be open from 2 pm to 9 pm.
Tony has booked The Bandstand and also has a gazebo with the idea of hanging artworks on railings/ bandstand/ gazebo for an exhibition of Members work and also to promote WGAS. Artworks will under cover, so rainy weather won’t be a problem.
