Support for artists to work in schoolsArtist's Bursary SchemeBetween January and March 2012, Cinderford Artspace is co-hosting a pilot project to support artists who wish to develop their skills to work in schools. This work is being funded by Create Gloucestershire, and the project is running in two areas of the County: the Forest of Dean and Stroud. Artists will be able to apply to Cinderford Artspace for a bursary to support their development and increase their ability to work effectively in schools. Guidelines are included in the application form. Artists are able to apply for up to £750 and may choose to request funding for anything that they feel will enable them to progress in this area (for example equipment/materials/training or mentoring). Application is in writing via a simple application form which will then be considered at a panel meeting of lead professionals. Panel meetings take place in January, February and March. Artists are expected to complete an evaluation of their involvement in this scheme by early April. As this project is to benefit Forest of Dean schools, artists must work in the Forest of Dean. Please contact Cinderford Artspace on 01594 825111 ext 4, or email sally@artspacecinderford.org |
About the Society | |

Founded in 1935 by a group of Forest of Dean artists before being reformed in 1965 by the then tutor at Lydney Art College, the object of the Society is the same now as it was when founded: to promote and encourage interest in the practice of visual arts as a vital part of everyday life. We are an exhibiting Society. We do not hold meetings: we exist to provide ways for our members to exhibit their work at events that we arrange and at events arranged by others. Members receive a regular newsletter with news about our events and other art-related activities in West Gloucestershire and the Wye Valley. We have members working in all visual arts, including
We are always pleased to welcome new members. For information on membership please see the Joining us page. |
