Events

The Society organises exhibitions in a variety of places in and around the Forest of Dean each year.

All members of the Society can enter work, according to our rules, which are available here: Exhibition Rules

A prize, the Handel Protheroe Memorial Trophy, is awarded annually for the best entry to one nominated exhibition.

Exhibitions currently planned for 2012 include:
  • An exhibition at the Studio Cinema, Coleford on the weekend of 7th - 9th April (Easter weekend). This coincides with the Coleford Carnival of Transport.
  • An exhibition in Staunton Village Hall, on the weekend of Staunton Church Flower Festival.

In 2011 the Handel Protheroe Exhibition was at the Bridges Community Centre, Monmouth from Saturday 22nd to Saturday 29th October.

The four artworks shown on the right were judged First, Second, Third and Highly Commended in this year's Protheroe Prize exhibition.

They are Anji Horlock's canvas titled City Watch, Rookery by Geoff Jennings, Sleep by Krysia Kolodziejek, and Joy Morgan’s piece, Poulriabrone Dolmen.
