West Gloucestershire Art Society is an exhibiting group based in the Forest of Dean. We have members working in all visual arts, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and textiles.

The Society was founded in 1935 by a group of Forest of Dean artists, and was re-formed in 1965 by Handel Protheroe, the then tutor at Lydney Art College.

We provide ways for our members to show their work at events that we arrange and at events arranged by others. Our focus is on exhibitions, not meetings.

Membership is open to all artists – there is no vetting procedure. Our subscription is just £12 per calendar year (pro-rata for new members for their first year only).
