West Gloucestershire Art Society is based in the Forest of Dean.
We are an exhibiting group who provide ways for our members to exhibit their work at events that we arrange and at events arranged by others. Our focus is on exhibitions, not meetings. Members receive a newsletter with information on our events and other art-related activities in Gloucestershire and the Wye Valley.
Membership is open to all artists – there is no vetting procedure. All members can exhibit their work. Our subscription is just £12 per calendar year (pro-rata for new members for their first year only).

Our next exhibition is our annual Protheroe Prize Exhibition, which this year will be at the Shire Hall in Monmouth from Wednesday 25th July until Sunday 29th July.
A wide range of our members work will be on show and for sale, and visitors will be able to vote for their favourite artwork.
The opening hours will be 10.30 am to 4.30 pm and admission is free.
There is a public car park close to the Shire Hall.
Our last exhibition was at the Studio Cinema in Coleford from Friday 30th March to Monday 2nd April. We were extremely busy, with over 300 visitors on the last day.

WGAS members’ paintings are now on show at the Miners Country Inn at Sling. The Inn is managed by Sam and Steve Jenkins, who are bringing a fresh approach to dining out in the Forest of Dean.
You can see a selection of our members work in the bar/restaurant area of the Inn during normal opening hours. All the works on display are for sale, and the selection changes every 11 weeks.
Please support Sam and Steve and see our artworks at the same time!
